50 Year Gold Star Achievement

“We had a very special event to organise, recognising the achievement of one of our longstanding firefighters who has given 50 years service to the fire service

I have worked with Lesley on a number of community events so it was a no brainer to ask her to arrange this event.  From the pre-planning, getting all the invites out in a timely manner, liaising with the venue, compiling the run sheet, decorating the room, running the logistics and even being our MC for the evening.

There is nothing she can’t do and nothing that hasn’t been thought of. A great asset to our community.”

Customers Brief

When a firefighter has been in the fire service for 50 years, this is a massive achievement and they are awarded a gold star award.  This is a very special occasion, so we want to ensure that a special event is created in line with protocol as well as making it unique that everyone will remember.

A good local venue that has the capacity to cope with 150 people, great wholesome food, entertainment and space for presentation and speeches.  It would be good to end the evening with them cutting a cake and then some live entertainment and dancing to conclude the evening.

The Outcome

This was a great event bringing the community together and acknowledging and recognising what had been achieved.

A daytime event was organised for the community to attend so those who were not part of the guest list had chance to share their congratulations.

A relaxed event with drinks and platters took place and the brigade presented a very special hand carved gold star plaque.

The evening event was successful and ticked all the boxes of relaxed, informal and well as acknowledging the formalities of the accolade

  • Local venue was secured and transformed into a beautiful event space
  • A format was designed to allow everyone to network while having the overall event experience
  • Special speeches and gifts were given, it truly was an emotional event
  • The evening finished with the cutting of the cake (WOW what a cake) and dancing to a local band

It was certainly a fantastic opportunity to use my event planning and management skills to bring a very special community event to life
